The bookstore is full of stories, but here’s a chapter of ours

Back in 2007, our bookstore’s owner, Peter, had just retired from a long career in astrophysics at JPL. He spent decades using physics and chemistry to study our universe. To push the boundaries of what our world understands of the galaxies beyond.

So how did someone who studied the stars and planets decide to open a small-town bookstore?

Well, after leaving JPL, Peter wanted to add value to the community of LCF in a way that would enrich the town for people of all backgrounds and ages. His wife, Lenora, had a degree in library science, so after much thinking and planning, the two decided to open La Cañada Flintridge’s very own independent bookstore!

Peter & Lenora love to feel how the community has embraced Flintridge Bookstore, and they are excited to see how the store continues to impact the individuals and families of LCF and its neighbors.

When asked what fulfills him the most about owning Flintridge Bookstore, Peter responded, “My personal reward is to hear back from customers who tell me how their lives have been affected by something that they found on our shelves.”
